The US Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has presented preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps to communities and unincorporated areas in Assumption Parish. Residents and property owners (business and residential) who believe these maps contain errors have until May 31, 2010 to appeal directly to FEMA.
Assumption Parish Maps can be viewed by following the links below. These maps are large and for viewing convenience, have been separated into panels. Please view the index map first, to determine the panel in which your business or residential property is located. (Panel Label Example: The panel is labeled 22007C0075D, you will need to refer to Panel 75) FEMA encourages residents to contact their local flood plain administrator to determine if their property will be impacted by map changes (Assumption Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness, 985-369-7386).
